The setup used a 103-inch Plasma. Today Panasonic announced the development of a 50-inch Full HD 3D compatible plasma display panel (PDP) and high-precision active shutter glasses that enable the viewing of theater-quality, true-to-life 3D images in the living rooms.

A 50-inch 3D TV is of course more feasible to actually become affordable and sellable. Panasonic plans to release their new 50-inch 3D Plasma TV in 2010. Read more

TDVision to Show 3D Compatible Full HD Broadcast Solution at CES 2009 Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review CES 2008 had some interesting 3D demos on the video game front and CES 2009 is going to have 3D broadcast technology being shown for the first time. A company called TDVision says that it will be showing the world's first and only system that will allow the broadcast of full HD 2D/3D programming.

The system works with Blu-ray content as well. Broadcasts using the technology are up to 1920 x 108o resolution. The company will be showing its 3D technology on equipment by Texas Instruments, Mitsubishi, and XpanD. Read more

NEC announced a new 52-inch LCD HDTV today called the LCD5220. NEC uses a “U” shaped backlight for even lighting and heat distribution in the set. The 5220 is capable of full 1080p resolution.

The TV can also display 1080i, 720p, 480p, and 480i as well. The bezel of the TV is very thin and the set can be used in a TileMatrix video wall of up to 25 displays. The set is also sealed to keep out smoke, dust, and other contaminants. Read more

The projector is called the Grand Cinema HT3000 HOST and uses a modular design. The projector portion is compact and the video processor is a separate unit.

Samsung will show a 40 inch full HD LCD Panel with a stunning 10mm thick canvas at the FPD International 2007.

This new display, expected to usher in the next wave of large-screen TVs, has the same profile as 10-20 inch LCDs designed for desktop monitors. It's bezel has been reduced from a conventional 30mm to 14.6mm.
