27-inch iMacs Having Issues?

Topic:

27-inch iMacs Having Issues? Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review

Apple's new 27” Macs are really gorgeous, powerful machines with a painfully high price tag. Most Mac customers consider that high price a worthy sacrifice for the quality and reliability that comes with Apple products. Unfortunately, if these reports filtering in from the Apple support forums are anything to go by, Apple's latest Mac could have some problems. Engadget states that most of the complaints are due to a bug that causes the new Mac's hard drive to spin down, issues with slow Flash playback, and a possible corrupted build of Snow Leopard.

There's been no official word from Apple about this yet, but new users continue to complain. This is far from an epidemic, but enough people have spoken up to make it noteworthy. There's even a video that shows the Flash issue occuring. Again, this could just be due to a few bad machines, or a few users blowing minor, isolated issues out of proportion.

The New 27-inch Core i7 Apple iMac Is Expensive But I Am In Love

Topic:

The New 27-inch Core i7 Apple iMac Is Expensive But I Am In Love Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review Apple unveiled yesterday the new line of Apple iMac All-In-One computers.
I mentioned several times in my iMac rumors coverage over the last weeks that a Core i7 iMac would give me weak knees and get my credit card number typed into the Apple Store checkout page at light speed.
Now Apple did announce a new iMac that can be had with Core i7, the fastest CPU Intel currently offers. The problem that stands between me and the 27-inch Core i7 iMac besides the November shipping date is the price.

Some say that 27-inch is too big, but I know it is just a matter of getting used to and then you are hooked. I currently work with a 26-inch Monitor and have a 19-inch as 2nd display next to it. The first 2 days I got seasick looking at the 26-inch screen, but now I can not work on smaller screens anymore. Therfore 27-inch just sounds very right to me.

A Backpack for Your iMac Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review

Quote from the review: "We won't make too much of the fact that the iMac falls behind the more expensive Sony all-in-one and two $1,000 or so Windows desktops on some of our tests. We say this because the iMac's performance is acceptable all-around, and also because it dusted its competition on our multitasking test. Read more
