iPhone SDK huge Success and App Store to launch in 62 Countries
Apple today announced at the WWDC 08 that downloads of its iPhone SDK (Software Development Kit) have topped more than 250,000 since its launch on March 6.
Apple had several developers actually take the stage at the WWDC 08 keynote to show off cool applications they developed for the iPhone.
It is just funny to look back how Apple was against opening up the iPhone in the beginning. Now the also finally realized that developers are their biggest asset to make the iPhone ubiquitous.

iPhone SDK Beta 6 released
Apple moves forward with the iPhone SDK and publishes the 6th beta.
The iPhone Beta 5 SDK was released three weeks ago.
The new iPhone SDK Beta 6 requires the new OS X 10.5.3 that was also released today.

New iPhone SDK Beta 5 released
Apple has yet released another beta release of the iPhone SDK and 2.0 firmware.
It is not known yet from iPhone developers what is new in the new beta release. The download is smaller than before, possibly indicating that Apple removed debug code.

iPhone SDK Beta 4 released
Apple released the fourth beta version of the iPhone SDK.
The new SDK release includes Xcode IDE, iPhone simulator with Open GL ES support, Interface Builder, Instruments, frameworks and samples, compilers, and Shark analysis tool.

iPhone SDK Beta 2 Released
Possible the most anticipated thing from Apple since the iPhone was the iPhone SDK that was released a few weeks ago. The SDK was so popular that Apple says 100,000 downloads of the SDK were made in the first week it was available.
Apple is now saying that the second beta version of the SDK is available. The kit is free for download and includes the interface builder, Xcode integrated development environment, iPhone simulator, frameworks, samples, compilers, and the Shark analysis tool. Read more

Adobe Flash on iPhone not possible with current iPhone SDK
Comments made by Adobe's CEO Shantanu Narayen on Wednesday suggested that Adobe would be bringing Flash to the iPhone with the SDK that is currently available.
Now Adobe has clarified that the iPhone SDK is too limited to bring Adobe Flash to the iPhone just now.
It looks like the whole thing is a big misunderstanding.

Weekly Top 10: PS3 outsells Xbox 360, Xbox 360 price-cut, iPhone SDK
This week the video game
sales numbers show
that in February more consumers bought the Sony PS3 than the Xbox 360. The
Wii is still way ahead though. Microsoft only
lowered the prices of the
Xbox 360 in Europe, seems they do see no need to reduce the price
in the United States.
Apple released the first download numbers for their new
iPhone SDK. 100,000
developers already started to toy with the SDK. Apple also announced this
week the details for the upcoming
WWDC 08 conference
where the iPhone SDK will be the hottest topic.
Asus thinks that there will be more
Asus Eee PCs running XP
than Linux, I am not sold on that message yet.
If you are into music, a new software has been
announced that can
fix wrong notes in a recording, just like that.

Apple proud of 100,000 iPhone SDK Downloads
Apple announced that in the first 4 days of the availability of the iPhone SDK 100,000 developers downloaded a copy.
Apparently AOL, Electronic Arts, Epocrates, salesforce.com and Sega have already demonstrated "amazing" applications using the SDK.

Apple Launches iPhone SDK and Announces iPhone 2.0 Software
After much waiting and anticipation from iPhone owners and software developers Apple released the iPhone SDK yesterday. The SDK has all the APIs and other stuff that developers need to build applications for the iPhone.
The SDK also includes an iPhone simulator that runs on the Mac OS for testing applications developed with the SDK. The applications developed with the SDK will be distributed via a new Apple App Store. "We're excited about creating a vibrant third party developer community with potentially thousands of native applications for iPhone and iPod touch," said Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO. "iPhone's enterprise features combined with its revolutionary Multi-Touch user interface and advanced software architecture provide the best user experience and the most advanced software platform ever for a mobile device." Top 10 Tech Stories: Nokia Morph, iPhone SDK, New Blu-ray Players
Apple dominated the tech headlines again this week. First they introduced
new Apple MacBooks and
MacBook Pro notebooks and then said they will have an
iPhone SDK Event on
March 6th. The latter actually sparked more interest as Apple hinted at

iPhone SDK Rumor: Apple policing App Distribution via iTunes
Apple announced an iPhone SDK event to take place on March 6th and as anticipated rumors will fly high the next week on what the iPhone SDK will be like.
iLounge has it that Apple will control the iPhone application distribution via the iTunes store. Apple would be the Gatekeeper for 3rd party iPhone applications.

Apple indirectly confirmed the delay of the iPhone SDK, by sending out an invitation for an iPhone SDK event on March 6th.
Besides the iPhone SDK the invitation for the event also mentions Enterprise.

Apple iPhone SDK delayed?
Steve Jobs announced the iPhone SDK back in October. The announcement targeted a release in February. Now BusinessWeek has posted a story saying the iPhone SDK will be late by 1 to 3 weeks.
I am not too surprise that the iPhone SDK could be delayed. The announcement was already made several months ago and it is the first version of the SDK.

Apple iPhone SDK announced by Steve Jobs
A message from Steve Jobs just got published on the Apple site announcing an iPhone SDK for third party applications on the iPhone.
Apple plans to release the iPhone SDK in February of 2008. Apple needs that time to develop an open platform for developers that is also safe for the iPhone customers. Meaning Apple does not want to open the door for viruses, malware, privacy attacks, etc..
