Our review partner Digital Trends also takes the new Apple iPod shuffle 3G to the test and published this review. The new iPod shuffle only scores a low 6.5 rating.

iPod shuffle 3G in-depth Review

Apple unveiled the new talking iPod shuffle 3G about 2 weeks ago. The opinions are mixed on this newest iPod. It is tiny, but the talking and the moving of the controls to the headset cord sparked discussion. We featured already an early iPod shuffle 3G Review. Now Apple Insider took their time and published an in-depth review of the new iPod shuffle 3G.

Quote from the review: "Outside of a slightly more complicated sync process, it's still the quintessential exercise iPod and the most likely to be a companion to an iPhone or one of Apple's larger iPods. iPod shuffle 3G Review

Apple unveiled the tiny new talking iPod shuffle yesterday. USA Today has already published an iPod shuffle review. USA Today gives the new iPod shuffle 3 out of 4 stars. Reviewer Edward C. Baig, who had a pre-production iPod shuffle for the past week, likes the smallness of the new shuffle but also highlights all the compromises that come with the tiny size.
The VoiceOver sounds robotic, but works and keeps you informed of what song is actually playing on the iPod shuffle.
On the down side battery life is about 1 hour lower than on the 2G shuffle and you need the special ear buds that come with the new iPod shuffle as they carry the remote to control the device. Read more
