Overview
I was already very taken by the
JNC
SSF-8002 version of the tiny cube mp3 player also sold sometimes
as the mobiBlu DAH-1500. After all it is
currently the world's smallest MP3 player and it is still stuffed
with all features that I expect from an MP3 player. The sound
quality is also excellent. The MobiBlu DAH-1500i is adding some very
important improvements over the JNC SSF version. It features WMA-DRM
support. Meaning I can buy music online and synchronize it via
Windows Media player onto the player. It tested it with a purchase
of the new Stereo MC's Warhead song. Then there is USB 2.0 support
for faster data transfer. Besides those major differences there are
a couple smaller ones. The font and icons in the user interface are
different. The UI is a bit more elegant on the DAH-1500i. Also the
firmware update is done via an update software. On the JNC, the
firmware update is done by just placing the firmware file onto the
player.

The MobiBlu DAH-1500i review on
AnythingButiPod describes a problem playing back songs in
alphabetical order. I do not have this issue, as I have track
numbers in front of the song titles. The new firmware can be
downloaded at
MobiBlu America, but it does apparently not fix the alphabetical

Conclusion
The MobiBlu DAH-1500i is a solid MP3 player with a fun form factor.
The player is the feature rich alternative to the plain iPod
shuffle. If you can get the MobiBlu DAH-1500i model and not the JNC
SSF model (DAH-1500). As it is only sold in the US at Wal-Mart it might be not
that easy for people outside the USA to get one.
