Overview:
I did not know that Hyundai is into manufacturing electronics. I
just know them from making cheap cars. So it was a bit of a surprise
to receive a new MP3 Player from our friends in Hong Kong that is
made by Hyundai. It comes in a very Apple look designed white box.
The HY-206 comes in different colors. I got the blue one. The player
is very small and lightweight. It measures 50mmx13mm. It basically
has the diameter of two 25cent coins put next to each other.

Experience:
The MP3 Player features 128MB of memory. The player has a
built-in microphone that can be used to record voice for up to 5
hours. A rechargeable battery is built-in. When connected via USB
the MP3 Player is charging indicated by the green LED. The Hyundai
MP3 Player has no display. it has 4 buttons on the front for
operating the player. Besides that it has two mode switches on the
side. The front buttons are for Play and Stop, Skip and Volume and
repeat mode. The mode switches on the side are for switching between
recording and MP3 playback and USB and battery operation.

One major downside is that the Player does not support WMA. The
Fancylogic product page states that it does, but it does not when I
tried it. Only MP3 and Wav files work. The sound is quite good. The
volume is also strong enough. It does not have a equalizer so there
are no options to change the sound. I had some issues when
connecting the MP3 Player to my Windows XP Notebook to get the drive
recognized. It started to work at some point. I think maybe was
related to the battery that it was not charged enough. Either way it
worked after a couple minutes.
The player comes with two sets of ear phones. One has a small
built-in digital FM Receiver and has a sports necklace. The FM
Receiver can also be used without the MP3 Player. It only has two
buttons and an On/Off switch. It works pretty good. The other
earphones are standard plain ones. The player also comes with a nice
looking sliver metal/plastic necklace.

Conclusion:
The Hyundai HY-206 is nicely designed and with the four
available colors (blue, silver, red and black) quite fashionable. It
is small and lightweight. on the other hand it is also a lightweight
in terms of features. No WMA support is a drawback.
