MacRumors picked up a rumor again from April that Apple might be actually announcing a completely new portable device at the WWDC 08 in June and therefore release the 3G iPhone already in May. Read more

$150m BlackBerry Partners Fund goes against $100m Apple iFund Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review RIM and Thomson Reuters today announced plans to launch the BlackBerry Partners Fund, a US$150 million venture capital fund, to invest in mobile applications and services for the BlackBerry platform and other mobile platforms. The Fund is to be co-managed by JLA Ventures and RBC Venture Partners.

Apple recently announced the iFund with $100m in capital to fund iPhone and iTouch applications. RIM's venture capital fund is clearly aiming to counter Apple's initiative. Read more

Now Amazon.com itself started to take pre-orders for both new Asus Eee 900 notebooks for $549.99 each.

Amazon.com does not state a shipping date yet for the Asus Eee 900. It is expected that the Asus 900 will ship tomorrow May 12th. Because Amazon ships them its free with Super Saver Shipping. Read more

Wii Fit has not even started shipping yet, but as far as I can see all major online retailers have stopped taking pre-orders.

iPhone unavailable in online Apple Store Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review The online Apple store has currently no iPhones in stock. Both the 8GB and 16GB iPhone are marked as "Currently Unavailable".

This could also just be a store glitch, but we also already learned that week that O2 has run out of iPhones in the UK.
It is suspected that this shortage already heralds the 3G iPhone, but I still think that Apple will continue to offer the normal iPhone for a while. Not everybody gets 3G coverage. Read more

In the wake of Guitar Hero: On Tour I stumbled over them again and also found a must see Japanese video review of these Air Guitar gadgets.

This toy consists of the upper neck of a guitar featuring an infrared sensor that senses your air guitar moves. The guitar had has seven buttons on the front to press to hold down chords and also buttons on the side to identify the chords as major, minor, augmented, or diminished. Read more
