T-Mobile Touch Pro2: Out August 12. Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review

I know a lot of people were hoping for a July release date for the T-Mobile Touch Pro2, but some pretty solid information has just come down which states that we won't be seeing a release for a while. August 12 was the date given on a leaked internal T-Mobile document, which is about as much confirmation as any rumor can get. Most speculation on the delay seems to lay the blame on quality control issues that T-Mobile is currently ironing out.

The Touch Pro2 is a 3G enabled smartphone with a sliding QWERTY keyboard, a big 3.6” touch screen that tilts, and Windows Mobile 6.1. It's a pretty hot little mobile, and there's been a fair amount of buzz about it in the T-Mobile community. T-Mo has stated that their target audience are “successful professionals” who are also early adopters.

Marketers Threaten Twitter Over Spammers. Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review

From Iranian revolutionaries to mourners of Michael Jackson, it seems like everyone has a Twitter account these days. Websites, celebrities, politicians, industry insiders, and normal people alike have fallen in love with the idea of Twitter.

Corporate use will probably end up playing a big role in whether or not Twitter becomes profitable in the near future. That means they've got to pander to the big businesses that use their product, even when they start making ridiculous demands.

Nvidia Says: No Split With Apple. Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review

Yesterday we reported on some rumors of a split between Apple and Nvidia due to the latter company's quality-control issues. We still haven't heard an official comment from Apple on any of this, but it looks like Nvidia has finally spoken up. Fudzilla spoke to industry sources “close to Nvidia”, who told them that their relationship with Apple was still going strong.

Apple's still buying Nvidia chips, and Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang apparently stated that he has a great deal of respect for the 'fuss maker' apple. As an aside, I really hope that was the actual term Jensen used.

Google Voice Lets You Change Your Number...Again. Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review

Today the folks behind Google Voice took a short break from answering invite requests and added a new feature to their service. If, for whatever reason, you decide you really don't like your Google Voice number, you can now change it. It'll cost you ten bucks, but that's really pretty fair when you consider what it's letting you do (and the hassle that switching numbers represents for Google).

Google Voice is a brand-new service that lets you consolidate all of your mobile, home, office, and Skype numbers together under one customized number. Google even has a number picking tool that lets you type out words to see if the number spelling them is available in your area. It's a very convenient little service that is getting a lot of attention.

An AT&T memo was leaked recently that gives us an interesting look inside one of the world's largest mobile carriers. This internal document lists some of ATT's recent milestones and major successes, most of which seem to be directly attributable to the iPhone.

Overheating Issues Continue To Plague iPhone 3GS Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review

No company is perfect. It appears that there have been issues with the white iPhone 3GS overheating and discoloring easily. The rumors didn't attract very much attention at first, but reports continue to file in.

Apple hasn't taken the issue very seriously yet. They've updated their support document entry on iPhone overheating to include the 3GS, but that's as close as they've come to dealing with the actual problem. Apple states that overheating phones will show a warning screen and lock down for all non-emergency calls. This doesn't address the primary current issue; the fact that overheating iPhones are discoloring.
