Verdict
The Philips SRU9600 is a stylish remote that I enjoy seeing on my coffee table. Especially as it replaced all my other remotes and, also very important, my wife is able to use it too. The SRU9600 is small and light enough to keep holding while watching TV. The setup is really super easy, well done Philips! The simplicity is also key to continue further improve the handling by adding new keys or activities to the remote, without having look into the manual. The price is also pretty low. I paid in Germany under 80 Euro for it. (TechnikDirekt).
The only negatives that I could find are that the SRU9600 is a bit heavy (because of the 3AA batteries) and that it cannot be updated with a new firmware or code database. Also the LCD button layouts cannot be customized, but this is the price I am willing to pay to get an easy to use universal remote that I can use every day without any fuzz.
