It's been a while since we've seen a new iPod model. For a while there it seemed like Apple was churning out newfangled versions of their MP3 player right and left. There are new iPods in the works, but according to recent speculation by analysts, the new players will be delayed further than expected.

First up, a slimmer version of the iPod Nano was originally expected to hit the market in the third quarter. It's now not expected until the end of the year. There's also a wide-screen iPod Video in development, originally thought to be available for thw 2006 holiday season. That's been pushed back until next year.Today, Apple stock fell to an eight-month low to $55.76, almost half of the $100+ price level that many people were expecting it to reach.
