More details of Intel's upcoming quad core processor, dubbed the Core 2 Quad surface at the London Game Developers Conference 2006 direct form Intel themselves. It seems that in addition to the 2.13 GHz processor I mentioned before, the 2.4 GHz part will also debut in November.

The code name for the chip is 2.4 GHz Kentsfield and the retail name will be Core 2 Quad. I wonder if this 2.4 GHz part may be the extreme edition leaving the 2.13 GHz part as the more mainstream CPU.Still no exact date on the launch of the parts, mid-November is as close we can get to the real launch date.
