MacBook Pros Get Intel Core 2 Duo CPUs

Apple is announcing today that their MacBook Pro line is now including the speedy Intel Core 2 Duo processors delivering performance up to 39% faster than the previous MacBook Pros.

The new notebooks also include double the memory compared to previous models and greater storage capacity. Both the 15” and 17” MacBook Pros are mere 1” thick thanks to the aluminum enclosure that also sports a built-in iSight video camera.Also new is a built in FireWire 800 port for connecting to high speed peripherals like external hard drives. Another cool feature is the new MagSafe Airline Adapter to allow the notebooks to be used on commercial flights with more ease. The 15" MacBook Pro starts at $1999 and the 17" starts at $2799.
