European iPod Volume Cap

For all of you iPod gurus, here is a specific fact you may not know about the Apple’s iPod.

Any iPods purchased with EU have the hearing volumes capped. This maybe due to law regulators, or maybe sensitive ears in that part of the world. Either way, they may just be playing it safe. American iPods are much louder. So, if you’re one of those unfortunate souls who’s stuck with a European player, here are some tweak’n tips for you.Upgrade Apple’s bog standard ear-goggles to higher quality set of in-ear buds. If that’s not good enough for you, there are software patches available that can remove the volume limit restricting you from going deaf. Just don’t blame us when all you can hear is… nothing.
