Don't Miss: This How to find Fingerlings in Stock

For those who are waiting on pins and needles to see which PS2 games will work on the PS3, Sony has launched a site that allows people to search for PS2 titles and check their compatibility status with the next-gen console.

The site was originally planned to go live alongside the actual release of the console, but Sony decided to lift the cover on it a couple days ahead of schedule.

The compatibility refers to the just announced Sony PS3 Firmware 1.60.

Browsing through the PS2 compatibility list I found GRAND THEFT AUTO: SAN ANDREAS to be only playable with noticable issues. GRAND THEFT AUTO: VICE CIT and LIBERTY CITY STORIES have no known issues. The Final Fantasy franchise is playable with minor issues.

A text search would also be a nice feature for this list.

The site is here.
Sony has said, however, that firmware updates will continue to increase the backward compatibility list. In the US and Japan, virtually every PS2 game works with the PS3, with minor glitches appearing in a select few titles.
