Some stores in Italy are likely going to feel the heat from Sony after they broke orders to hold on to the PS3 and started selling them today. Some lucky Italians are already sitting at home and playing the PS3 that should have still been in the back stock room until tomorrow.
It started out with a small-scale store trying to cash in on its PS3 cache early and advertised that it would sell the console beginning at 7 PM. Another chain store, Media World, didn't like being beat to the punch and started selling PS3s at 9 AM, officially cancelling its midnight launch party.Sony did not say immediately that the stores would be punished, but a spokesperson did assure that they will "carefully consider all available options in relation to retailers who have commenced sale of PlayStation 3 prior to 23rd March 2007".
