I guess HP was no longer content to sit o the sidelines and have Acer and ASUS get all the car maker/notebook crossover fun. HP has teamed up with Maybach, the folks who make luxury cars that start at about $305,000, for a new laptop computer.

The HP Maybach ns42 sports the Maybach crest on its cover and uses leather that looks like snakeskin to cover the outside and the palm wrest on the inside of the notebook case. The notebook is presented in an exclusive complementing case. Presented is a funny word to use, but these are the guys who call their dealerships “Studios”.At the heart the notebook isn’t all that special with an Intel Core 2 Duo, 64GB SSD rather than the old HDD. Also included are a Bluetooth mouse and an additional battery. While there is no announcement on the official price, some say this notebook will go for over $4000. Presumably to the same sort of buyer who would shell out $305,000 for a boring looking car. Story and image via Luxurylaunches
