Sharp introduces a new 2.2 inch display for mobile devices with the industry highest contrast ratio of 2,000:1.

The display features 240×320px (QVGA) resolution, 8ms response time, 176 degrees field of view.

Sharp is already marketing several mobile phones with their Aquos TV brand to highlight the screen quality.
As watching video and TV on small screens becomes more common, sharper and brighter screens are getting more significant.
You want to be able to still watch your favorite soccer team on your commuter train even when the sun is shining through the window. A wide field of view also lets your friends get in on the on-screen action.
