A leaked internal memo indicates that Michael Dell is considering indirect channels.

InfoWorld has a quote from the memo saying: "The Direct Model has been a revolution, but is not a religion," Dell stated in the memo. "We will continue to improve our business model, and go beyond it, to give our customers what they need." As long as Dell is not opening stores like Gateway had operated, it might be a good idea. Dell needs to take a close look at the Apple retail stores. Those work great for Apple and are great marketing for the company. Apple is building a huge new one in NY in the meatpacking district.
