We came across some new furniture from Exeter called the Tactile Living collection. Looking at the picture,it's quite obviously a step in the direction of looking weirder to be considered "more contemporary".

"This exciting new showroom gives design enthusiasts the chance to buy iconic furniture classics without having to leave the Westcountry," said Exeter. Call me old fashioned, but I like to sit in a chair in which I can actually tell which way I'm supposed to sit.The new furniture can be seen at Exeter's furniture showroom, along with a bunch of other overpriced nonsense that function only as a giant price tag in your living room.
