£1.25 billion in gadgets wasted every year

A new survey shows that around £1.25 billion spent on consumer electronics is for products that are never used, due to fear and ignorance. The data, coming from Scooter Computer, said that 22% of people received an electronic device last year that they never used.

The top two reasons for gadgets going unused were that the user was too intimidated (probably mostly the older crowd), or simply didn't know how to use it.Here are the top five unused gadgets, from the report:

1) iPod
2) Digital camera
3) Software
4) GPS system
5) Mobile phone

Personally, I wouldn't mind if anyone who wasn't using his or her iPod sent it to me. Maybe that way we can cut back on the £1.25 billion figure.
