UK-based Hauppauge digital has announced that Mac computers are now compatible with EyeTV, a TV tuner software designed to work with Hauppauge's hardware.

EyeTV, which carries a price of EUR 59.99, works with the WinTV Nova-t Stick, WinTV HVR900 Hybrid Stick, and WinTV NovaTD Stick with Antenna Diversity. In other words, Mac users can finally use the same software PC users have been using for a long time.It also says a lot about interoperability between the two computer formats. "For the first time, a WinTV tuner will work on both a PC and a Mac, opening new opportunities for owners who want to move products between several machines," said Hauppauge VP of sales Yehia Oweiss.

With the Mac's focus on entertainment applications, it seems like a no brainer to bring this functionality to the Apple format. Hauppauge tuners are available from £30 to £130.
