The Shine slider phone from LG is not exactly a powerhouse like the Chocolate or SDA, but it's become one of the handset maker's most popular models. Expect that statement to be even truer after a new version of it, with 3G capabilities, makes its debut.

It will come with 512 MB of built-in memory, a two megapixel digital camera, and VGA video recording. Oh, and get this - it will boast data transfers of 3.6 Megabits per second (Mbps). That's faster than a lot of phones in the UK, and near the top of what's currently available."We expect to become a leader in the 3G market through the premium brand image of LG Shine 3G Phone, already recognized as one of the most sought-after phones of the year due to its stylish design and innovative technology of LG Mobile," said the man with the plan for LG Mobile, CEO Dr. Skott Ahn. It will take one of the more popular rollout schedules, hitting Singapore and Australia first, with more of Asia to follow along with Europe.
