Apple to launch Video Rental?

The Financial Times reports that Apple is in advanced talks with Hollywood movie studios about launching an online film rental service.

A film would cost $2.99 for a 30-day rental. You would be able to transfer a rented movie to one device. The Apple movie rental service could launch in autumn. Apple declined of course to comment. Not sure if video rental will be topic today when Steve Jobs hits the stage for his keynote at the Apple Developer conference WWDC 07 (site).
