If you are a bicyclist that has experienced near misses with cars because motorists just don’t seem to notice you, the Sound of Motion bike computer will get you noticed. The bike computer portion of the system sends data wirelessly to your Bluetooth enabled phone that is also Java capable.

A sensor on the wheel of your bike sends data about your speed, acceleration, time, and distance traveled. You can save the data and upload it to a spreadsheet for tracking as well.

A feature that Sound of Motion says is for safety, allowing bike riders to be noticed by the vehicles around them is the sound simulator. This simulator allows your bike to sound like a big Harley idling and accelerating, a horse or a steam train. You can use any mp3 sound that you desire to get attention. While the bike computer is cool, the sounds seem somewhat gimmicky to me, though my kids would love it. Check out the video below to see the system in action. The system retails for $69 and includes a free phone holder for your bike. Via Sound of Motion
