Global Industry Analysts, Inc. announced today the results of their new report on the wireless gaming industry called “Wireless Gaming: A global Strategic Business Report”. The report says that a CAGR of over 58% was recorded during the ten-year analysis period.

The increase in disposable income in developing countries is said to be part of the reason for the growth. Downloadable games are more popular than subscription based models and more than just guys are getting into the mobile gaming action.

The downloadable game market is the fastest growing segment the report claims and is predicted to reach $10.7 billion by the year 2009, some serious growth in just two years with a 150% CAGR. Personally, I think that when wireless firms finally roll high speed access out to more of their markets is when wireless gaming will really grow.
