Intel's new unified Naming Scheme on hold?

Intel apparently stopped plans for a new unified naming scheme for its CPUs, Viiv and vPro platforms reports Digitimes.

The new names should have gone in effect on January 1st 2008. The Viiv and vPro platforms are still to be renamed though to Core 2 Viiv and Core 2 vPro.The stop is apparently triggered by negative feedback from partners.
