Toshiba launched a new projector today for conference room use called the TLP-X3000AU. This projector has a 3000 ANSI lumen brightness and built-in theft deterrence feature. Another interesting feature of the projector is the blackboard function that has wall color adjustment for projecting onto surfaces other than a dedicated screen.

The security feature of the projector is a removable palm-sized control panel that is on top of the projector. When the control panel is removed, the projector is inoperable unless a password is entered on the remote or the control panel is replaced.

Weight for the projector is 6.2 pounds and the resolution is 1024 x 768 with a meek 400:1 contrast ratio. The TLP-X3000AU is capable of projecting an image of 40 – 300-inches from a distance of 3.8 to 28.9 feet. Inputs include one S-video and one RCA for composite video. The projector can project TV resolutions of 480p, 480i, 576i, 576p, 720p, and 1080i.
