Sega is apparently getting back in the console business with a new portable gaming and media player dubbed Sega Vision.
The Sega Vision is more a media device than a gaming console, which is kind of odd for Sega.
Features of the Sega Vision include MP4 movie player, digital TV tuner, MP3 player, 2GB integrated memory, video and photo camera, eBook reader, and Java mini games.
The feature set of the Sega Vision is pretty comprehensive, but reminds me more of those Korean market only devices that have been out there for a while - so it is nothing new. The Sega brand could help to find a sizable market for the Sega Vision depending on the price.
Sega Vision is said to reach Europe in 2009.
