V7 Launches NAV730 and NAV740 GPS Devices

V7 announced its latest GPS devices called the NAV730 and the NAV740, both are targeted at the value conscious customer and commercial fleets. Both GPS units offer turn-by-turn driving directions and text-to-speech capabilities.

The NAV730 has a 3.5-inch 320x240 TFT-LCD and the NAV740 features a 4.3-inch 480x272 TFT-LCD. Both units utilize a 400MHz CPU, SD card slots, pre-loaded maps, and audio and video playback capabilities. The units will also display images in GIF, JPG, and TIFF formats.

The GPS module in both devices is the SirfStarr III 20-channel chipset and power comes from a rechargeable Lithium-polymer battery. A DC adapter for use in the car is included as well. The MSRP for the NAV730 is $199 and the NAV740 retails for $299.
