The BBC reports that the Nintendo Wii is already in very short supply in the UK. Now that the BBC reported about it, you can be sure there is a shortage.
Looking at the prices the Wii is resold on secondary platforms the situation looks grim. The normal price is £179 for the Wii in the UK. 3rd party offers on Amazon UK start at £324.99, which is almost double.
As reported the Wii stock situation in Germany is by far not that critical. Although Amazon Germany is now also out of Wii stock. Other german retailers are even offering the Wii under the MSRP, so there is definitly still plenty of stock.
This is also an opportunity for customers in the UK to get their hands on a resonably priced Wii console. You can find Wii offers from German shops here.
