Details announced a new keyboard tray today that is the first product to receive Cradle-to-Cradle certification from McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry. This means that each component of the keyboard tray from the mechanisms to the palm rest was looked at for their environmental impact.

This design process assumes the product will eventually be recycled rather than thrown away. The device is constructed from 98% recycled steel, the keyboard platform is made from 100% recycled kraft paper, and the palm rest is made from a proprietary waterborne urethane that is 100% recyclable.
"We continually seek ways to build products that have a positive impact not only in the office, but also on the environment," says Bud Klipa, president of Details. "Cradle-to-cradle certification for our new keyboard validates our work in this area."
