While Microsoft would love for all computer users to jump on the Windows Vista wagon, for many computer users and businesses Windows XP is still the OS of choice. For a while now you could download RC1 of XP SP3 from Microsoft.

The newest RC2 of SP3 is reportedly not available for mass audiences at this time. The RC2 version is only available now to a group of registered beta testers.

SP3 upgrades all versions of XP that have at least had SP1 applied to them. The new SP3 only has the patches and updates starting from SP1. The final public release version of SP3 is expected in the first half of 2008. SP3 is reported to be the last service pack for Windows XP.
