A British company called Elonex has unveiled a laptop called “One” at The Education show that will retail for only £99. The system is Linux based and promises a 3-hour battery life.

The notebook will also use a flash-based hard drive and feature Wi-Fi built-in all in a package weighing less than 1kg. Those are the only specs known at this time, no word on the amount of RAM, SSD size or the processor speed.

At the price the thing is going for don’t expect much in the way of performance. The goal of the PC maker is similar to that of the OLPC foundation with hopes to make the systems available at a price more people can afford.
