Sony has officially announced that no new content will be added to the PlayStation store until after an update to the store is made in mid-April. Eurogamer quotes Sony saying, “Content will be suspended for two weeks while the improvements are carried out but users can look forward to a special update in mid-April.”

The store is getting a new look and feel, as you can tell a bit from the screen shot. Sony says that users will still be able to buy existing content during the update.

Sony specified that this update was undertaken as response to feedback from millions of PSN registrants in the PAL region. That remark makes it unclear if the redesign will be applied to the US store as well.
