Yahoo CEO joins Jawbone board

Marissa Mayer, the charismatic president and CEO of the Internet giant, Yahoo, has long been rumored to be in talks with Jawbone to join its board. AllThingsD has confirmed that the rumor is true.

San Francisco-based technology company, Jawbone, makes some of the best Bluetooth headsets in the world. From the "Jambox" to the "Jawbone UP" health monitoring device, Jawbone has grown to become one of the most respected tech companies today. So it wouldn't surprise us at all if the likes of Marissa Mayer will sit on its board to ensure its future.

According to AllThingsD, the Yahoo CEO has officially joined the board at Jawbone. Sources say that Mayer has already attended a board meeting in San Francisco just recently. Interestingly, prior to Mayer's appointement as CEO of Yahoo, Mayer was rumored to be a potential candidate to the role as "director" at Jawbone. Mayer, known for her deep experience in high-level design and scaling businesses, is also on the board at Walmart and several cultral institutions, says AllThingsD.
