Rovio is poised to launch a new game from its insanely-popular Angry Birds franchise. Called Angry Birds Friends, it is expected to arrive on Android and iOS come May 2.

Exciting news for fans of the Rovio's popular mobile game series, Angry Birds. The latest game, Angry Birds Friends, will be launched in the App Store on Thursday this week, May 2, 2013. What's reportedly new in this upcoming app is a fun, social spin on the classic bird-launching game.

Angry Birds Friends was announced by Rovio via a tweet, which was posted together with a featured image of Angry Birds Friends on Android and iOS. "Angry Birds Friends will be available on mobile THIS THURSDAY!" it said.

Fans of the widely popular game will be pleased to know that the new app will still retain the classic Angry Birds gaming experience while providing players with social features integrated with social networking site Facebook.

The new app allows players to challenge friends on Facebook, much like the games in the social networking site itself. Players can also compete in weekly tournaments with their friends, win rewards, and send them to other players as well. The new app Angry Birds Friends will be launched on Android and iOS.
