Yahoo Revamps Flickr After Tumblr Acquisition

Yahoo has already acquired Tumblr. In a record-setting deal of $1.1 billion, Marissa Mayer of Yahoo took over Tumblr and now she is looking forward to revamp Flickr by offering one terabytes of free storage space on it.

Yahoo now updates Flickr with lots of new additions including the 1 terabyte storage space offer. Yahoo has already signed the deal of the century. After a series of negotiations the CEOs of Yahoo and Tumblr, that is Marissa Mayer and David Karp, shook hands over a merger. Yahoo paid a whopping $1.1 billion to Tumblr while retaining its CEO.

Yahoo CEO admired Tumblr CEO in her official blog related to acquistion. Marissa Mayer said that David Karp is an intelligent and intuitive gentleman who has the gift of creativity in his genes. He will remain in charge. However, it will be up to Marissa to really change the image of the micro-blogging site from just hot to very hot and spicy. She has to prove her worth as a smart and talented CEO who has brought a hard work ethic to the company.

Furthermore, the photography site, Flickr is to be revamped and the deal is that one terabytes of storage space will open up a brand new world of fancy imagery on the site. If she can handle this project safely and soundly, then for Yahoo it is up, up and away! Previously, there have been takeovers such as Facebook’s buying of Instagram for one billion dollars or Google’s purchase of YouTube.

While it is a bit behind Google and Facebook in matters of gigantic proportions, Yahoo has nevertheless had quite a following. And while it bought Flickr eight years ago, the site progressed at a snail’s pace. Yet that is all about to change. Marissa Mayer will see to it that its user interface is redesigned. And with a spanking new Activity Feed and Android App the days will change for the better.

A greater capacity of 200 megabytes regarding picture size as well as an extended three minute time limit on videos will make for an excellent treat. While on the whole it is a welcome move, there are some hurdles. The biggest one is the series of steep charges on some of the services. Yet there is no such thing as a free lunch especially in today’s economically charged world.

Ultimately, the rejuvenation of Flickr into something big and awesome basically required the one terabyte extra storage space and that sure turned that frown upside down for everyone who has a Yahoo user account. It is thinking big that has led Marissa Mayer to this stage where her company Yahoo has not one but two players on its side (that is Tumblr and Flickr). The best wishes of all its users are with Marissa on this one!
