Wii U Basic is On Its Way Out

Retail sources claim that Nintendo will discontinue the Wii U Basic console.

It looks like Nintendo gears up to release new versions of the Wii U console already. According to Kotaku, the Wii U Basic with 8GB will not be sold at GameStop after June 18. This is one week after Nintendo's E3 2013 Keynote.

This would mean that Nintendo will announce new Wii U consoles at the E3 2013 and that they are already starting to sell them this summer. Nintendo needs to do some dressing up for the Wii U as Sony and Microsoft come out with completely new consoles this year.

The Wii U Basic is on sale on Amazon for $285 (5% off).
