Loch Ness monster Never was a Reality

There is a big surprise in store for those who claim that there exists a monster in Loch Ness, Scotland. It never was a reality and in fact is a geological illusion caused by a geological fault claims scientist.

It appeared in the early days to be the stuff of which legends are made. “Nessie” as the Loch Ness Monster was called had countless sightings to its credit. There is even a video film made of this mysterious creature of the deep. It shows a shadow of a long-necked saurian as it emerges from the lake of the same name. The earth surrounding it trembles and bubbles of effervescence spout all around its huge frame. But Italian Geologist, Luigi Piccardi claims otherwise, as stated in the Scientific American. According to this distinguished gentleman, the whole scenario was nothing but a series of tremors surrounding the lake. The fault lines underlying Loch Ness were such that they caused the minor earthquakes.

Termed the Great Glen Fault System, these sensitive areas are located where the tectonic plates meet. Luigi furthermore confirms the facts which speak for themselves. During the time period when the maximum number of sightings was reported, the tremors were at their peak. All the evidence points in one direction: observation error. It was during the Roaring Twenties that both phenomena, one paranormal and the other Natural, took place. So it figures! The Great Glen Fault is at least 100 km in length. It creates a rift in the Scottish Highlands so that they are split into upper and lower halves. The geological movements are the likeliest explanation for the almost life-like illusion of the Loch Ness Monster.

A number of mild earthquakes have been recorded in the region since the 1800s. The first time the Loch Ness Monster was recorded in the form of a photograph. This was later proved to be fraudulent. Since then enthusiasts, scientists and marine explorers have searched high and low for the enigmatic creature. But no one has been lucky enough to actually find it.

Every form of detection device has been employed in the process. These include deep-sea diving dolphins with cameras strapped on them and replicas of submarines. Even after virtually giving the whole region a complete scan with sonar and a thorough imaging from space, no such creature turned up. Nevertheless, lack of evidence isn’t going to hold back the sightseers from coming in droves to the site. If anything, it only increases their curiosity even more. There is after all no attraction as strong as a sense of mystery and suspense.
