Mysterious Hum is a Psychological Nuisance

One of the unsolved mysteries of the world, the Hum remains a psychological nuisance to so many. The source of the mysterious hum remains unidentified.

For several decades an elusive phenomenon has been going on that has driven some of the people affected by it to the edge of insanity. There have been reports of at least one suicide due to this malady. It is called the hum and consists of a supposedly buzzing noise that disturbs certain people in specific areas of the world. For many who are particularly sensitive to it, it is pure punishment. It gets on their nerves after a while and begins to feel like Chinese torture. While most people are immune to the effects of this gadfly among noises, those who bear the brunt of its burden are sick and tired of it. The sound appears to be like a diesel engine that has been left on in the background.

The worrying thing for sufferers is that it gets worse at night. They miss out on valuable sleep. According to LiveScience, The first time the diesel disease was noticed in Bristol, United Kingdom. It is also found increasingly in Taos, New Mexico. Everything from factory noise to military experiments and tinnitus has been blamed with no conclusive evidence in the end. Maybe some people are just too sensitive to other wavelengths of noise that lie further than human hearing. It could be a possibility though one can’t say with certainty. The side effects of the hypothetical noise are very real though. It is evident from the suffering of its victims.
