A space spectacle took place last week and NASA caught the whole thing on video.

If you live in the American South and were starring at the moon in the predawn hours of August 28th then you would have seen a fireball lighting up over the moon. A meteor lit up in a dramatic space show. Good thing NASA has several cameras always watching the moon.

The asteroid lighting up over the moon was likely about 2 feet in diameter and 100 pounds in weight.

According to this was the brightest fireball observed in the last five years. You can watch the space event in the video below.
