Tumblr and DataSift to Make an Advertisement Deal

Tumblr has just been added to the social information setup known as DataSift. The two are signed an advertisement deal with each other.

The blogging site Tumblr will from now onwards be used to access the feelings of the individuals posting information on it. DataSift has, in a manner similar to its arch-rival Gnip, become a major re-seller that has acquired a full grasp of Tumblr’s fire hose system. This move will stimulate marketers and experts to aid their clientele in advertising and community service.

Furthermore, DataSift will be allowing consultation facilities for Tumblr’s agencies. Tumblr was an acquisition made by Yahoo for a cool $1.1 billion in the hot and happening month of May. Tumblr’s information content is readily accessible via Query Builder. Being one of the social online setups showing the highest growth potential, Tumblr needs an external agency like DataSift to further maximize its yield.

The founding father of Tumblr, David Karp was against the idea of advertising from the beginning. His efforts had always been to keep the world of cheap and flashy ads as far away from the site as possible. However, the times have changed and advertising has become a key to revenue generation.

The deal signed with DataSift will hopefully engender greater data in order to pique user interest. The way of the online environment is surreal. And what could be more surrealistic than the playful, display profession of advertising. Now that DataSift is about to lend a fresh energy boost to Tumblr, the blogging site will be joining the ranks of such real time players as Twitter.
