When inventory was taken for the Apple iPhone 5S it was found to be grotesquely low. The iPhone 5C has proven to be more popular since it is for the sea of masses rather than the limited elite.

Low stocks of the iPhone 5S may prove problematic for Apple. While preorder sales of the iPhone 5C took place with somewhat mixed results, the iPhone 5S was not given such a protocol. The debut inventory will not be able to meet the demand. In other words, expectations will not be fulfilled this time around.

Several carriers expressed chagrin and irritation at Apple actions. The low supplies could prove to be an accident waiting to happen. The only silver lining is that the demand too may not be as high as it was thought to be. Apple is taciturn regarding its preorder sales of the iPhone 5C. But sources say that it is selling like hotcakes.

Yet the fact remains that a higher demand and a lower supply is a formula that spells trouble. Between 70% to 80% of the stock Apple currently has in store pertains to the iPhone 5C. It comes as somewhat of a surprise that quality has been beaten this time around.

The cheaper substitute for the iPhone 5S has won the hearts and minds of millions. There is even a slim possibility that this piece of news will have spiraling results. The demand for the iPhone 5S will rise thanks to this particular information. After all, whatever is unavailable automatically becomes a temptation.
