Samsung Electronics is planning to introduce a smartphone with curved display having plastic organic light-emitting diode (OLED) panels in South Korea next month.

Samsung is aiming more with new ideas to leave Apple far behind in smartphone industry. Samsung is now already become a leading smartphone maker in the world. It has over taken Apple to become the global smartphone leader. Now the world's leading smartphone make, Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., is planning to launch a brand new smartphone with slightly curved screens during the 4th quarter of current year.

Samsung Electronics Co., the world's largest smartphone maker, is planning to roll out mobile devices with slightly curved screens in the fourth quarter of this year, a senior company official said, in a move to continue its dominance in the market.

At the launch event of Galaxy Note 3 smartphone in Seoul on Wednesday, Samsung's mobile business head of strategic marketing D.J. Lee said, "We plan to introduce a smartphone with a curved display in South Korea in October," according to Reuters.

Tech giant has already shown some prototypes of such devices back in January. Curved LED TVs are already in the market. But a smartphone with curved display will be launched for the very first time. And Samsung will be the pioneer maker of such smartphones. The company plans to launch the new smartphone with plastic organic light-emitting diode (OLED) curved panels in October.
