Snapchat Introduces Stories Feature to Recap Last 24 Hours
The Verge

Snapchat has always been an extremely popular app among the youth. Its new "Stories" feature recaps how your day went in the form of a series of interesting pictures. After 24 hours each album or story automatically expires, making room for the new.

The young have a right to their full-blooded revelry. That is why we have apps such as Snapchat which up until now mainly consisted of images that self-destructed within seconds. But now something new is entering the arena on this platform for the hip and fashionable. Termed “Stories” it will run on iOS and Android at one and the same time.

Snapchat officially announced Stories feature via its blog stating, "We’re introducing Snapchat Stories. A totally new way to share your day with friends - or everyone. It’s fun and ephemeral, just like Snapchat.

The basic feature of Snapchat has always been snaps or video clips that are erased after a while. This saves a lot of tactless people from embarrassment. With Snapchat Stories, the deal becomes like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter or Tumblr. But there is a subtle difference. After the span of a day and night the story automatically disappears to make way for others.

Thus the procedure is simple and like the ephemeral nature of one’s youth, it lasts a brief instance in time and then is gone forever. The post of today gives way to the listing of tomorrow. The forum is a means of airing your views (photographically) without the consequences that may ensue were your posts to last for say a year or so. You can show the world what you like and have it gone with the wind before anyone who may take offence gets a whiff of it. Youth as they say is always uncouth!
