This is the last year of BCS (Bowl Championship Series). This fact does not stop the BCS Standings to be once more controversial.

This is the last season of the BCS. Next year the BCS standings will be replaced by another system. A 13 person selection committee will be picking the top four team for the playoff. The BCS has been used since 1998 to pick the top two teams. The selection process is based on polls and computer analysis. If the new system will be less controversial remains to be seen. The LA Times has a good article on the history BCS Standings and the future system.
