NYT Columnist David Pogue Heads to Yahoo

Yahoo poaches Pogue

Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer has officially announced that New York Times technology columnist and author David Pogue is coming to Yahoo. Mayer says that Pogue will lead a major expansion of Yahoo's consumer Coverage and will publish columns, blog posts, and video stories. The videos and blogs are aimed at demystifying gadgets, apps, and technology that powers our world.

Mayer doesn't come out and say specifically when Pogue will be joining Yahoo. She writes, "Yahoo is in a unique position to bring to life great editorial about the technology consumers are using every day. David is tremendously talented, has a great sense of humor, and is gifted at explaining technology. He also just happens to be one of the nicest and most positive people I’ve met. He has always been one of my favorite journalists, and I can’t think of a better person to make technology more accessible and helpful for the hundreds of millions of people who come to Yahoo every day."

Pogue has also published a number of books about technology and is a TV presenter. Mayer closed writing, "We can’t wait for David’s first pieces. In the meantime, here is a taste of the humor, irreverence and know-how that David brings to Yahoo. Enjoy!"
