Android users missing Blackberry's genius standalone BlackBerry Messenger app are in for a treat

The BBM app recently debuted on the Android market and has since received over 150,000 reviews on Google Play. A discomforting observation made by Matt Baxter-Reynolds on Twitter, has led consumers and tech freaks to question the credibility of Blackberry and its PR team.

A majority of the reviews seem to contain similar content with improperly structured text and misplaced punctuation. As observed by Max Reynolds on Twitter, the review text says, ' Thank you so much Blackberry team. I was waiting this app. It is really great user friendly and smooth.'

In a startling observation, tech blogger Terence Eden reveals review content posted by an eager beaver reviewer that reads, in part, "Please post the following comment on the new BlackBerry Messenger Android APP. 'Thank you so much black berry team...'" , with the text concluding with the same app review message as observed by Reynolds. Most of the reviews on BB carry the same message, leading bloggers to believe this is an inappropriate and embarrassingly weak stunt by the responsible individuals to either malign Blackberry by causing trouble or promote its new app with unfair practices.

While there is no concrete evidence to prove that Blackberry has been engaged in nefarious activities, the reviews do no bode well for the company clawing its way back to the top. Consumers and tech experts from Reynolds to Eden are fervently hoping this is a joke of questionable taste rather than a stunt pulled off by developers in desperation, causing an indelible stain to mar Blackberry's spotless reputation in consumer electronics.
