Mysterious barges off the coast of San Francisco and Maine are said to belong to Google. Google had a patent out for such an ocean-faring vessel to house its data systems.

Google has kept some of its activities a secret. Take the case of the mystery barge that is floating around in the San Francisco Bay area. It is a project that is said to belong to Google. Google is also said to have another floating data center in Maine. Agreements have been signed between the government and security guards regarding the venture. Not a word is to be leaked to the public.

The vessel consists of containers with aerials on top. They have thin slits in them. The presence of this big boat in the Bay area has led to rumors. Some say it holds a large number of computers. Others speculate that the structure stores Google Glass samples.

A similar barge has been spotted in Portland, Maine. The second barge is licensed to By and Large LLC. The game of confidentiality is very popular in the world of high technology. Apple Incorporated is especially known for this practice. The security procedures surrounding what is supposedly Google’s project are very stringent.

Guards and fences are just two of the safety measures taken by the giant. And as far as talk about the barge is concerned absolute silence has been adopted. This is especially practiced by those connected to it in any way. It is a conjecture that the data devices housed by the barge will be cooled using the sea water. And the waves will provide energy for the barge too.
