Android Jelly Bean Now Has over 50% of the Android Market

Android Jelly Bean is now the most popular version of Android

It can take a long time for the majority of users to upgrade to one of the latest version of Android is for their particular smartphone. Part of the reason for this delay is that it can take a while for carriers to offer the upgrade to users. The latest numbers are in for the month of November looking at the various flavors of Android and the percentage of the overall Android market they hold.

For the first time Android Jelly Bean holds over 50% of the overall market. Looking individual versions of Jelly Bean, 4.1.x has 37.3% of the overall market, 4.2.x has 12.5%, and 4.3 has 2.3%.

Android Gingerbread has 26.3% of the overall market with Ice Cream Sandwich holding 19.8% of the overall market. Some devices out there still don't have access to Android 4.3 and the market is expected to come more into Jelly Bean's favor as users finally upgrade to the devices or upgrade existing devices.
